Applying for Benefits When You Are Unemployed
Are you unemployed, but no longer able or available for work due to your own physical or mental health condition, pregnancy, need for bonding or caregiving leave?
You may be eligible for Disability During Unemployment, Family Leave During Unemployment, or Pandemic Unemployment Assistance benefits. Click the links below to learn more about each program.
Disability During Unemployment (DDU)
If you have an illness, injury, pregnancy, or another physical or mental health condition and have not been working recently, you may be eligible for benefits under the Disability During Unemployment (DDU) program.
Family Leave During Unemployment (FLDU)
If you need to bond with a new addition to your family or care for a loved one, but you haven't worked recently, you may be eligible for Family Leave During Unemployment (FLDU) benefits.
Unemployed Due to COVID-19?
If you are unable or unavailable to work due to certain COVID-19 medical or caregiving reasons but your earnings or employment history do not qualify you for Family Leave or Disability During Unemployment, or you exhausted your regular unemployment benefits, you may qualify for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance.
